Here are some tips for you to keep in mind
when you're searching for products..
1. What makes Auction
Sources 2004 unique?
Unlike the "directories"
you see on eBayŠ and elsewhere, Auction
Sources 2004 is a "live link" directory. You don't
have to make phone calls, or write letters. Each entry
is linked to a company web site. And, Auction Sources is
updated no less than 4 times per year.
2. What
are the ARA "HOT DEALS" you talk
about?
"ARA HOT DEALS" is a paid
service that provides clients with news of new product shipments
offered by our associates. Many of the companies
we deal with will tip us off in advance when they have new
products coming in, or new shipments arriving from major
retail outlets.
Remember those mini remote control
cars? Auction Sources
customers were able to purchase them as soon as they hit
the country at less than half the $9 "wholesale"
prices advertised.
And, those "BabyG" watches
that were so hot on eBay? We got them weeks in advance of
the big "craze" for $3.75 each! (No Minimums either.)
Folks that don't want the dirctory,
can receive the "ARA HOT DEALS"
for $125.00 per year.
3. Isn't
Auction Sources 2004 just another drop-ship
directory?
NO.
While there are several of our sources that offer drop
shipping, Auction
Sources 2004 IS NOT
a "drop-ship directory."
4. What is meant by "wholesale?"
The wholesale price is the difference
between what a retailer pays for his product,
and what he charges his customer. For the most part,
wholesale prices are 30% to 40% of retail. In other
words, if a product sells for $10, the retailer would have
paid $6 for it. His "gross profit" (before
any expenses,) is $4. Out of that comes his expenses.
5. What are "Liquidation"
products?
Liquidation products might also be
considered "excess stock" or "over-runs."
Generally new, in the box, sold by lot, pallet or truck
load. MOST liquidation prices are quoted as a percentage
of the WHOLESALE cost of an item. In other words,
if the wholesale cost is $6, a liquidator may quote you
a price as "30% of wholesale," which would be
30˘ on the wholesale dollar. In this case, your cost
would be $1.80.
6. Should I purchase Close-Outs?
Close-out
merchandise can be a crap shoot. Most often, you'll
be dealing with a lot of returned merchandise that may,
or may not be in good condition. You have to be careful,
in that many "close-out" offers are really "salvage"
merchandise, and may not even be of the quality you can
sell. As a general rule, you'll have to toss out about
20%-30% of anything "salvage" related.
7. What
if I'm looking for a "special" product?
Another
of the great services our customers receive, is a our "members
only" product search. Let us know what you want,
we'll try to find you a supplier. No biggie?
Trust us, it will save you untold hours of searching yourself.
